The United States has launched airstrikes on the capital city of Caracas and several other regions of Venezuela, targeting key military installations and the Ministry of Defense.

According to US media reports, the operation was carried out on the orders of President Donald Trump. At least seven powerful explosions were heard across Caracas, triggering widespread panic among residents. Witnesses also reported seeing US military CH-47 Chinook helicopters flying at low altitude, raising fears of a broader military escalation.

Following the explosions, electricity was cut off in several areas, while thick smoke was seen rising into the sky. Media sources claim that the residence of Venezuela’s Defense Minister, Vladimir Padrino López, was also targeted, after which contact with him could not be established.

Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has been moved to a secure location as armored vehicles continue patrolling around the presidential palace. Addressing the situation, President Maduro stated that the United States seeks to seize Venezuela’s oil and mineral resources but vowed that such attempts would fail.
Unconfirmed reports have also emerged suggesting that US Marines may be preparing for ground operations inside Venezuelan territory.
In response to the escalating situation, President Maduro has declared a national emergency across the country.
