As part of the plan to transform Islamabad into a modern, world-class city, Federal Interior Minister and Minister for Narcotics Control Mohsin Naqvi visited the Shanghai Urban Planning Headquarters. He was received by the head of Shanghai Urban Planning, Chen, who briefed him on the city’s master planning, development projects, and advanced urban facilities.
During the visit, the Interior Minister was informed about Shanghai’s integrated system of rapid urban development combined with modern civic amenities. Through videos and models, officials explained Shanghai’s development journey, key features of its master plan, and various urban projects. Mohsin Naqvi also reviewed a model of a state-of-the-art stadium equipped with modern facilities.
The Interior Minister expressed keen interest in Shanghai’s technology-driven system that integrates all urban planning data on a modern platform. He praised the efficient, coordinated, and foolproof mechanisms adopted to manage the city and ensure sustainable development.
Mohsin Naqvi said that Shanghai is a remarkable example of rapid development and serves as a model for cities around the world. He stated that Pakistan intends to develop Islamabad on similar lines and will take immediate steps to benefit from Shanghai’s fast-paced urban development experience.
At the conclusion of the visit, the Interior Minister recorded his remarks in the visitors’ book. Federal Secretary Interior Muhammad Khurram Agha, Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa, and Inspector General Islamabad Police Ali Nasir Rizvi were also present on the occasion.
