Pakistan Navy has successfully conducted a surface-to-air missile test during a comprehensive naval exercise in the North Arabian Sea, demonstrating its high level of operational readiness and combat capability.
According to a statement issued by ISPR, the exercise was conducted in line with evolving maritime warfare requirements and included successful trials of both conventional and unmanned systems. During the drill, the Pakistan Navy carried out a live firing of the LY-80 (N) surface-to-air missile using a vertical launching system.
The missile, fired at an extended range, successfully intercepted and destroyed an aerial target, validating the Navy’s modern long-range air defense capability. The exercise also featured precision strikes on surface targets using advanced loitering munitions, highlighting Pakistan Navy’s accuracy and strike effectiveness.
Additionally, successful open-sea trials of unmanned surface vessels (USVs) were conducted, showcasing high speed, agility, precise navigation, and effective performance under harsh weather conditions. These platforms were described as low-risk, high-impact stealth tactic
al interceptors.
The exercise was observed by the Commander Pakistan Fleet. Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf praised the professionalism and operational excellence of the officers and sailors, reaffirming that the Pakistan Navy remains fully committed to safeguarding Pakistan’s maritime borders and national maritime interests.
