Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has been elected as the new Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami. Rashid Naseem, the previous President of Jamaat-e-Islami, along with other members including Sirajul Haq, Liaqat Baloch, and Hafiz Naeemur Rehman were in the running for the position. Jamaat-e-Islami spokesman, Qaiser Sharif, announced that the term of the new Ameer will be from 2024 to April 2029, as per the manual requirement of electing a new Ameer every five years
