According to a police spokesperson, unknown motorcyclist assailants opened fire on on-duty traffic police personnel in Sarai Naurang city of Lakki Marwat, resulting in the martyrdom of three officers on the spot.
The martyred officials were identified as In-charge Traffic Police Naurang Jalal Khan, Constable Azizullah, and Constable Abdullah. The attackers fled the scene after the incident, while the bodies of the martyred officers were shifted to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Sarai Naurang.
In a separate incident in Bannu, a police official was martyred in firing by unknown armed men in the Mandan area. According to Bannu police, Constable Rashid Khan was on his way from home to Mandan Police Station for duty when he was targeted and martyred.
Police have launched investigations into both incidents, and search operations are underway in the respective areas.
