According to sources, a plan has been devised in Islamabad to collect taxes from traders. This will involve adding a new column to electricity bills specifically for traders. The proposed scheme will involve collecting taxes from traders along with their electricity bills. The amount of tax collected will be divided into 12 parts, based on the trader’s annual income. The plan is to collect the tax every month via the electricity bill. The proposal is still awaiting approval from the new coalition government to be implemented. It has been reported that the IMF has been informed of the proposed plan.
