The government has decided to block SIM cards that are issued on expired computerized national identity cards (CNICs). This decision was made by Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi during a meeting held at the Nadra headquarters. Naqvi also directed the building of model Nadra offices across the country, similar to the model police stations in Punjab.
This move was aimed at improving the image of the police and convenience for the people. Furthermore, the fee for death certificates is to be abolished and a simple system for birth, death, marriage, and divorce certificates should be introduced in collaboration with union council offices. The minister directed that citizens’ data should be kept secure and more facilities should be provided on mobile platforms for the convenience of the masses. Additionally, he emphasized the effective use of social media to promote the organization’s initiatives.
