According to the latest Global Economic Gallup Survey, Pakistan has shown stronger performance than India and the global average in terms of economic optimism and expectations for peace at the start of 2026.
The survey, conducted across 60 countries, reveals that 51 percent of Pakistanis are optimistic about the coming year, resulting in a net positive outlook of 31 percent. On the economic front, 53 percent of respondents in Pakistan believe that 2026 will be a year of prosperity.
The level of optimism in Pakistan is significantly higher than India’s 39 percent and well above the global average of 24 percent. Pakistan has also performed better in expectations related to peace and global stability.
According to the survey, 52 percent of Pakistanis believe that global peace will improve, compared to only 26 percent in India. This level of optimism regarding peace is among the highest recorded in Pakistan since 1994.
The report notes that similar positive trends were previously observed during the late 1990s and the mid-2010s. Overall, Pakistan has outperformed the global average on three key indicators: overall hope, economic prosperity, and expectations for peace.
Despite global uncertainty, the survey indicates that the people of Pakistan remain confident and hopeful about the future in 2026, presenting a more positive outlook than many regional and global counterparts.
