Attacks on Police in Tank and Lakki Marwat: 6 Officers Martyred, 3 Injured

In separate attacks on police convoys in Tank and Lakki Marwat, an armored vehicle (APC) was destroyed in an IED explosion, killing six police officers, including the SHO, and injuring three others.

The first attack took place in the Gomal area of Tank, approximately 25 kilometers from Kot Wali. According to police, the armored vehicle was completely destroyed in the blast. The officers killed included SHO Ishaq Ahmad Khan, ASI Sher Aslam Khan, driver Abdul Majeed, Arshad Ali, Hazrat Ali, and Ehsanullah. Rescue 1122 teams reached the site and transported the dead and injured to the hospital.

The second incident occurred in Lakki Marwat near Darra Tang, within the jurisdiction of the Saddar police station, where an IED explosion injured three officers, including SHO Raziq Khan. The explosive was planted near the Darra Tang bridge, a route recently used by the DPO of Lakki Marwat. Notably, a lawyer was also kidnapped by unidentified armed men at the same location the previous day.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has sought an immediate report from senior officials regarding the Tank attack and expressed heartfelt condolences to the families of the martyrs. He stated that the brave officers sacrifice their lives to protect the lives and property of citizens, and such acts by enemy elements cannot weaken the resolve of the province.
