Petrol & Diesel Prices Hiked Again
The government has further increased the prices of petroleum products and announced new prices.
According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Finance, the price of petrol has been increased by Rs 3.47 while the price of high-speed diesel has been increased by Rs 2.61.
New prices:
Petrol: Rs 256.13 per liter
High-speed diesel: Rs 260.95 per liter
These new prices have come into effect from midnight, which is likely to further increase the burden of inflation on the public.
Previous increase:
On December 31, the government also increased the price of petrol by 56 paise and the price of high-speed diesel by Rs 2.96, after which the public was already worried about inflation.
Public reaction:
The public is facing severe difficulties due to the continuous increase in prices. Citizens say that the rising prices of petroleum products are making the expenses of daily life unbearable.
This government move is also being strongly criticized by the opposition, while economic experts have described it as a new burden on the public.
