Aurat Foundation Balochistan has released its annual report on violence against women in the province for the year 2025. According to the report, incidents of violence against women have seen a significant increase. Last year, 123 serious crimes against women were reported, including murder, honor killings, abduction, harassment, sexual assault, domestic violence, and suicides.
In 2025, a total of 65 women and 25 men were killed, of which 33 women and 25 men were victims of honor killings. The Women and Children Facilitation Center (WJFC) received 129 complaints, including harassment, domestic violence, abduction, threats, blackmail, digital abuse, and financial fraud.
The most alarming trend was the 58 cases of honor killings reported across the province, including 10 in Jaffarabad, 4 in Sibi and Lasbela, 2 each in Noshki, Kharan, Mastung, and Loralai, and 1 in Chagai. Over the past six years (2019-2025), Quetta, Naseerabad, and Jaffarabad recorded the highest rates of murders and honor killings of women.
Aurat Foundation urged the Balochistan government and all relevant authorities to ensure timely and transparent investigations of cases involving violence against women and honor killings, provide special training to police, judiciary, and lawyers, and strictly enforce existing laws. The report also stressed that harmful social customs should be challenged, and women must be provided with education, economic opportunities, representation in decision-making, and equal rights. Aurat Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to continue advocating for women’s protection and empowerment in Balochistan.
