Two additional judges of the Lahore High Court have received suspicious letters, but they have not been opened. Justice Shahid Bilal Hasan and Justice Alia Neelam both received these letters. The police, including DIG Operations Ali Nasir, have arrived at the High Court to take possession of the letters and start investigating.
This comes after last day’s news that 8 judges of the Islamabad High Court also received letters containing alleged anthrax, which caused inflammation in the eyes of the staff members who opened them. The Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court confirmed that all 8 judges, including himself, received the letters. Chief Justice Amir Farooq has warned that anthrax has been reported in the region and the High Court has been threatened. There was also a letter that did not have a return address that was sent to the judges, written by a woman.
