When Eid Ul Adha Is Expected In Pakistan?

Many people around the world enjoyed a long holiday for Eid ul Fitr, including those in Pakistan and UAE. Now, astronomers have shared an update on the expected Eid ul Adha break. After the recent festivities, another significant holiday is just a few months away.

Eid ul Adha, the second major Islamic festival, is expected to be a five-day weekend in the second week of June 2024. The exact dates will be confirmed closer to the time. The Islamic calendar’s months last 29 or 30 days, depending on the sighting of the crescent Moon. Arafah Day is usually held on Dhul Hijjah 9, and Eid ul Adha is celebrated for three days afterward.

Dhul Hijjah 1 is likely to be on Saturday, June 8. Based on this, Arafah Day would be on Sunday, June 16, and Eid Al Adha on Monday, June 17 (Dhul Hijjah 10). The expected break would be from Sunday, June 16, to Wednesday, June 19, including the weekend (Saturday, June 15). However, these dates are not final and are subject to change based on Moon sightings.
