According to reports, Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori unveiled a ground-breaking plan on Wednesday to give pupils all around the province a free breakfast.
The governor unveiled the “Governor’s Initiative for Free Breakfast for Students” during a ceremony in Karachi, aimed at kids attending public schools.
Because of poverty and inflation, a worrying poll conducted by Governor Tessori revealed that many children in Sindh miss breakfast. Some have gone two years without milk, while others have gone six months without eggs.
This program, which will initially target 100 government schools before gradually expanding, attempts to guarantee that no student goes to school hungry.
With a special website for school registrations, the program will reach areas of Sindh outside of Karachi.
Tessori thanked philanthropist Bashir Farooqui, Chairman of Saylani Welfare Trust, and MQM-P Chairman Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui for their assistance.
He also highlighted other programs from the Governor’s House, such as security and IT service training.
Noting that 25 to 30 million children in Pakistan lack access to education, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui underlined the critical need for improvements in education.
Since teenagers and children make up 60% of the population, including the 30 million youngsters who are not in school may greatly improve the educational environment.
The program would cover other areas of Sindh besides Karachi, the governor said. There will be a webpage that schools can use to sign up for the initiative.
Tessori thanked philanthropist Bashir Farooqui, Chairman of Saylani Welfare Trust, and MQM-P Chairman Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui for their assistance. He stated that new programs, such as IT and security service classes, are often introduced by the Governor’s House.
Thanking Governor Tessori for his cooperation, he said that breakfast provision will ease burdens, lower poverty, and increase school attendance in Sindh, as part of the federal government’s educational emergency effort.
