Peshawar FC HQ Attack Foiled 3 Militants Killed

A terrorist attack on the Federal Constabulary (FC) Headquarters in Peshawar was successfully thwarted by security forces. During the exchange of fire and explosions, three suicide attackers were killed, while three FC personnel embraced martyrdom. According to CCPO Peshawar Dr. Mian Saeed, the attack occurred at 8:10 AM, after which Sunehri Masjid Road was closed for traffic and vehicles were diverted towards Saddar Road. He stated that one suicide bomber detonated himself at the main gate, while two others managed to enter the premises. However, FC personnel immediately engaged them, resulting in the killing of all three attackers. Deputy Commandant Javed Iqbal confirmed that FC personnel bravely confronted the terrorists. Besides the martyrs, nine people were injured, including three FC personnel and six civilians. The injured were shifted to Lady Reading Hospital, where their condition is reported to be stable. Following the blast, Khyber Teaching Hospital also declared an emergency, where one injured victim was brought for treatment. Security forces have cordoned off the area and launched a clearance operation to ensure complete security. State Leadership’s Response President Asif Ali Zardari President Zardari strongly condemned the attack, calling it “a cowardly act by Fitnat-ul-Khawarij and foreign-backed terrorists.”He expressed condolences to the families of the martyrs and prayed for the swift recovery of the injured.He stated that the state remains fully committed to eradicating terrorism from the country. Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif The Prime Minister said that a major tragedy was averted due to the prompt and courageous response of FC personnel. He instructed authorities to provide the best possible medical treatment to the injured and ordered a thorough investigation to identify and arrest the facilitators behind the attack. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi The Interior Minister strongly condemned the attack, stating that the brave FC soldiers foiled the enemy’s malicious plans through their courage and sense of duty. He paid tribute to the martyrs and extended good wishes for the swift recovery of the injured.
