In 2024, the federal government’s debt increased by Rs 3,919 billion, while the central government’s foreign debt decreased.

According to the State Bank of Pakistan document, the federal government’s domestic debt increased by Rs 4,632 billion in 2024, but the central government’s foreign debt decreased by Rs 710 billion.

According to the official data available till October 2024, the government debt was Rs 69,114 billion, however, the data on government debt for the two months of November and December 2024 is yet to come.

According to the central bank’s report, the federal government’s domestic debt was Rs 47,231 billion, and it was 21,884 billion as of October 2024.

According to the State Bank, the federal government’s debt in December 2023 was Rs 65,195 billion, of which its domestic debt was Rs 42,595 billion and foreign debt was Rs 22,600 billion.

According to the report, the federal government’s debt increased by Rs 4,304 billion from March to October 2024.

According to the document, the federal government’s debt was Rs 64,810 billion in February 2024, the last month of the caretaker period, and Rs 63,970 billion in August 2023.
