Operation ‘Marg Bar Sarmachar’ launched by Pakistan with a series of military strikes on what it said were separatist militant hideouts inside Iran on early morning of Thursday. The Foreign Ministry said Thursday morning, in the latest incident of Iran violations in Pakistan’s airspace has raise tensions between the two neighbors.
Pakistan has said its forces launched a series of highly coordinated and specifically targeted precision military strikes in Iran’s southeastern area Sistan and Baluchistan province as part of an operation called ‘Marg Bar Sarmachar’. The meaning of Marg Bar Sarmachar in English is “death to the guerrilla fighters.”
Pakistan is claiming that a number of “militants” were killed during the operation.
While according to CNN, Sistan and Baluchistan province’s deputy governor Alireza Marhamati said at least “seven people had been killed” following explosions and that the dead included “three women and four children”, who were foreign citizens.
“At 4:30 a.m. explosions were heard in a border village, several missiles were fired at the village,” Marhamati said.

The deputy governor said another explosion took place near the city of Saravan, but there were no casualties from that second explosion.
Iranian state media IRNA sais security officials are investigating in to the matter.
Pakistan on Thursday said it had expressed concern to Iran in recent years about the “safe havens and sanctuaries” of Pakistan separatist fighters, referred to as Sarmachar, living inside Iran, and that they had shared evidence of the presence and activities of the militants.
Pakistan and Iran have 900-killometer boarder called “Baloch region” but the latest incident marks a major “escalation” between the “two neighboring powers” and comes as regional hostilities in the Middle East mount over Israel’s ongoing war in Gaza.

Pakistan Army has said that Pakistan carried out effective strikes against hideouts inside Iran used by terrorists responsible for recent attacks in Pakistan. It added “the precision strikes were carried out using killer drones, rockets, loitering munitions and stand-off weapons. Maximum care was taken to avoid collateral damage”.
These hideouts have been used by terrorist organisations namely “Balochistan Liberation Army” and “Balochistan Liberation Front” were successfully struck in an intelligence based operation.
They reconfirmed the name of operation as “Marg Bar Sarmachar”.
The targeted hideouts were being used by notorious terrorists including Dosta alias Chairman, Bajjar alias Soghat, Sahil alias Shafaq, Asghar alias Basham and Wazir alias Wazi, amongst others, the statement added.
“Pakistan Armed Forces remain in a perpetual state of readiness to ensure safety of Pakistan citizens against acts of terrorism” ISPR .
It further added that Pakistan Army resolve to “ensure that the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Pakistan” is respected and safeguarded against any misadventure, remains unwavering. It added army “reaffirm our determination to defeat all enemies of Pakistan with the support of the people of Pakistan”.
in the last point the statement talks on way forward, “dialogue and cooperation” is deemed prudent in resolving bilateral issues between the two “neighbouring brotherly countries”.
