Following the decision by the provincial authorities to postpone the exams, the Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) may release a new schedule for the exams.
In order to protect students from the extreme heat, the Universities and Boards Department rescheduled the intermediate and matric group exams from May 21 to May 27, according to BSEK exam controller Khalid Ehsan.
He explained that the exam rescheduling that has been going around on chat rooms and social media following the papers’ postponement is not the official schedule and is incorrect. Ehsan gave his word that the Board would provide a revised timetable as soon as feasible for the remaining matriculation tests.
It is important to note that there are two unfinished papers for the classes of 10 and 9. Exams administered by the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) were previously rescheduled by the Universities and Boards Department. The original start date for these exams was May 22.
Exams were postponed until May 27 because of heatwave concerns, but Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz stated on Monday that there won’t be a heatwave in Karachi this coming week.

According to BSEK exam controller Khalid Ehsan, the Universities and Boards Department postponed the intermediate and matric group examination from May 21 to May 27 to protect the students from the intense heat.
Ehsan stated that as soon as possible, the Board will make available a revised timetable for the remaining matriculation tests. It should be mentioned that there are still two papers for the ninth and tenth grades, respectively.

Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz, however, stated on Monday that there is no likelihood of a heatwave in the city during the next week. He told a local TV station, “There’s no need to worry about the heatwave, the sea breeze is blowing in the city.”
