Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has carried out successful operations across different districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last 24 hours, killing eight terrorists, including two key commanders.
According to CTD officials, six highly dangerous terrorists affiliated with Fitna-al-Khawarij were eliminated during targeted operations in Peshawar and Khyber.
In Peshawar, an operation was conducted near a graveyard on the basis of intelligence information, resulting in the killing of three terrorists. In Jamrud, timely action foiled a planned attack on police, and three more terrorists were neutralized.
In Bannu, an intelligence-based operation led to the killing of Sohail alias Sangri and Ismail alias Usman, both identified as key commanders of the banned organization. CTD stated that these terrorists were involved in IED attacks on police check posts and the Rescue 1122 building.
During the operations, weapons, identity cards, and a Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) card were recovered from the terrorists. A search operation in the area is still ongoing.
The Inspector General of Police, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, stated that these targeted CTD operations have successfully foiled major terrorist plans and that actions against terrorists will continue without interruption.
