Pakistan won the first gold medal in the ongoing BRICS Games in Russia. Haider Sultan won Pakistan’s first gold medal in weightlifting.
Haider Sultan won the gold medal in the 61 kg weightlifting category.
He lifted a total of 261 kg. Pakistan won its first gold medal with 146 kg in clean and jerk and 115 kg in snitch.
It should be noted that the BRICS Games will continue till June 23 in Kazan.
