The Chief of Army Staff, General Syed Asim Munir, recently met with President Asif Ali Zardari to express his good wishes. During the meeting, the Army Chief updated the President on the ongoing military operations against terrorism and also highlighted the army’s preparations against conventional threats. He also informed the President about the army’s role in various development projects, including those in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The President expressed the nation’s determination to respond to terrorism through all elements of national power and expressed serious concern over baseless and unjustified allegations made to achieve political interests. The President vowed to deal with troublemakers firmly and swiftly.
