MDCAT Re-test Date Announced
Karachi: The Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2024 will be re-conducted in Sindh on December 8 (Sunday).
According to informed sources, the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Sukkur will re-conduct the MDCAT 2024 on December 8 (Sunday).
IBA Sukkur has completed all preparations for the test. Three centers will be set up in Karachi for the smooth conduct of MDCAT, while test centers will also be set up in Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Sukkur, Larkana, and Nawabshah.
On October 26, the Sindh High Court (SHC) declared MDCAT 2024 null and void and ordered its re-conduct within a month.
In a written judgment, the court said that “the investigation committee has admitted that the entire examination system has been affected.”
The court further said that there was no other option but to re-take the test and that representatives of the Sindh government, the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC), and Dow University had agreed to conduct the re-test.
The court ordered the provincial government, the health secretary, and the secretary of the board of universities to retake the test within a month as per the PMDC’s instructions.
On September 30, Dow University released the MDCAT results. 22,366 candidates from across Sindh had passed, with a pass rate of 58.79 percent.
