Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif met with Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Sri Anwar Ibrahim one-on-one.

In a statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office, it was stated that the meeting between the two leaders was held in a very pleasant atmosphere, in which bilateral issues were discussed in detail.
It was further informed that the meeting covered bilateral, regional, and international issues of mutual interest, including the issues faced by the Muslim Ummah.
The two leaders discussed the comprehensive strategy to make the bilateral cooperation in various fields more productive in this regard.
According to the statement, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated the Prime Minister of Malaysia on getting Malaysia the chairmanship of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) for the year 2025.
The statement said that Prime Minister Dato’ Sri Anwar Ibrahim welcomed Pakistan’s continued partnership in ASEAN as a sectoral dialogue partner, expressing support for Pakistan-ASEAN ties and Pakistan’s broader role in ASEAN.
According to the Prime Minister’s House, the Prime Ministers mentioned the decades of cooperation between the two countries and reiterated their determination to further strengthen the mutually beneficial partnership.
The statement said the two leaders stressed the importance of dialogue and exchange of delegations at all levels and the Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC) and the strategic importance of enhancing bilateral consultations.
It should be noted that on the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Prime Minister of Malaysia Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim arrived in Pakistan on a three-day official visit.
