Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SPARCO) inaugurated the first Space Application and Research Center in Gilgit-Baltistan.
According to spokesperson Sparco, Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister Gulbar Khan inaugurated Pakistan’s first space research center.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan emphasized the role of space technology in regional development efforts.
Besides, the Chief Minister emphasized close cooperation with Sparco for advancement in technology.
According to the spokesman, SPARCO’s center is committed to addressing environmental and socio-economic challenges in Gilgit. SPARCO Center will strengthen satellite-based monitoring of environmental challenges in Gilgit.
The spokesman said that the new research center in Gilgit will provide important data on glacier monitoring and landslides, and the center will collaborate with international research organizations on disaster management and protection.
According to the spokesperson, Sparco Center will inspire young minds with dynamic research and educational programs.
