Pakistan Engineering Council Election Committee has extended the polling time by 4 hours.
The Engineering Council Election Committee says that the polling time has been extended from 5 pm to 9 pm.
The committee said that the biometric system of NADRA has been fully restored.
The polling process in the Pakistan Engineering Council elections in Karachi resumed after being suspended for about 3 hours.
The presiding officer has said that the polling time has been extended by 1 hour to 6 pm.
Earlier, NADRA’s biometric system was down across the country, due to NADRA’s biometric system being down, voters faced difficulties in Pakistan Engineering Council elections.
The engineering council election is stalled due to the NADRA link down in Lahore.
In this regard, Engineer Ameer Zameer has said that polling in the Engineering Council election has been stalled since 11 am, NADRA’s link is down, and votes cannot be cast.
Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal has said that this is a question mark on the NADRA system, engineers are worried, and votes are not being cast.
The Engineers Panel candidate for Chairman Engineer Javed Saleem Qureshi has said in a press conference that the election process of the Pakistan Engineering Council has stopped.
Javed Salim Qureshi says that the polling process has been stalled for the last 2 hours in Punjab, it started after 90 minutes of polling in 3 provinces.
He said that polling is still closed in Punjab, polling in 148 polling stations is disrupted due to the NADRA link being down. If NADRA cannot conduct PEC elections, how can it conduct general elections across the country?
He says that currently the NADRA link is sitting, elections are not accepted without biometrics, elections should be free fair, and transparent, and elections will be accepted through biometrics, but selection is not accepted.
