ISLAMABAD: China and Saudi Arabia are likely to roll over a loan of $9 billion to Pakistan in the current financial year 2024-25, and Pakistan is also seeking funding for the Diamer Bhasha Dam.
According to sources in the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Pakistan is expecting a facility of 500 million dollars from the Islamic Development Bank for oil and commodities.
However, Saudi Arabia is unlikely to extend another oil loan facility.
Sources in the Ministry of Economic Affairs have said that Pakistan faces a total payment of more than 20.8 billion dollars this year.
The Geneva Donor Conference promised $10.7 billion in 2023 but only $3 billion has been received, Pakistan will also try to get financing under the commitments made under the Donors Conference.
According to sources, Pakistan expects one billion dollars from the World Bank for the Dasu Hydropower Project.
The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank will provide financing for the N5 project.
