The newly elected Prime Minister announced the great news regarding the immigrants.
According to foreign media reports, the newly elected British Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced the end of the plan to send Rwanda in his first-day press conference.
Keir Starmer made good on his campaign promise to immigrants on day one. He said it was a failed plan for immigrants by the previous government.
He said that this would only reduce the number of illegal immigrants by one percent. The decision ends the court battle and will also save the UK €50m next year and in 2026.
Keir Starmer said that those who failed to seek asylum should instead be sent back to their countries of origin.
Previously, under the former ruling party’s Rwanda project, migrants arriving in the UK were sent to Rwanda for 5 years to verify their reasons for leaving their country.
In June 2022, the first flight of refugees under the plan was canceled by a court and the plan has been stalled by litigation.
