PM Admits FY25 Budget Prepared On IMF’s Dictation

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has admitted that we had to prepare the budget for the next fiscal year together with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif came on the floor to answer the questions related to the deprivations of South Punjab, and wealth tax on behalf of the member of National Assembly of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and he said, “Given the current situation of the country, we need IMF We had to prepare the budget together’.

Prime Minister Shehbaz expressed positive hope regarding the IMF program but refrained from making a premature statement, saying that if the government receives any response from the IMF, it will take it up with Parliament. will share, he also expressed hope for ‘good news’, but did not clarify whether the prime minister was referring to the IMF bailout package or tax relaxation on fertilizers.

The Prime Minister’s statement came shortly after Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb withdrew from some key reform measures announced in his budget speech on June 12.

At the end of his budget speech, the finance minister announced that all the staff of the National Assembly and the Senate would get an honorarium equal to three basic salaries.

Mohammad Aurangzeb said in his address that the bailout package is necessary to deal with the current economic challenges and the government is moving positively with the IMF in this regard.
