Announcement Of Rs 2 Lakh Aid For Disabled Persons

The Punjab Government has taken several initiatives to assist special persons and ensure their financial independence. Under these initiatives, the government has issued Himat Cards and Nihgaban Cards under Baitul Mal.

These cards will enable special persons to receive a sum of up to 2 lakh rupees. The Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, chaired a meeting regarding the Social Welfare and Baitul Mal Department to discuss these initiatives. During the meeting, the government compiled authentic data on special persons and decided to issue Hamat Cards and Guardian Cards under Baitul Mal for special people. Additionally, the government will provide loans to working people with disabilities, wheelchairs, and other assistive devices to disabled people.

Special persons will be given a loan of 1 to 2 lakh rupees for financial independence. The government has also approved the establishment of a VAWC center in each division to deal with violence against women. The government will review the establishment of skills development centers in Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, and other districts.

The proposal of an audit of NGOs working for special persons was also discussed. Furthermore, the government reviewed ramps and baths for special persons in government buildings. The Rome ban implementation report was called for and bathrooms and ramps for disabled persons were made mandatory in every new government building. Considering the recommendations of the Women’s Protection Authority task force, the government will establish drug rehabilitation centers in every division. Lastly, the digitalization of the Social Welfare and Baitul-Mal Department was also approved.
