ISLAMABAD: Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif claimed that following the May 2025 Pakistan-India aerial conflict, Pakistan Air Force’s exceptional performance has led to defense equipment orders from around the world. This surge in orders could improve the economic situation, potentially eliminating Pakistan’s need for IMF financial aid within six months.Speaking on a private TV channel, Khawaja Asif said Pakistan’s jets proved during the conflict that they are equipped with state-of-the-art technology.“Our aircraft have passed all tests, and so many orders are coming in that if they are all fulfilled, Pakistan may not require IMF assistance in six months,” he said.He added that these orders signify international recognition of Pakistan’s military strength and enhanced the country’s prestige following the May victory.Warning India, Khawaja Asif said Pakistan is ready to respond decisively to any aggression, just as it did in May. He claimed India was severely impacted during the conflict, with Prime Minister Modi’s credibility at home and abroad suffering.He further criticized the Afghan Taliban, calling them unreliable regardless of their franchise, alleging their coordination with India. He noted that former Army Chiefs General (R) Qamar Javed Bajwa and General (R) Faiz Hameed had predicted the Taliban’s return, a view also supported by PTI leadership.Khawaja Asif also criticized the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, claiming it is erasing identities and promoting terrorism, continuing practices from the PTI era.Finally, he emphasized that Pakistan’s armed forces are among the strongest globally, asserting that operations like Venezuela’s are not possible in Pakistan.
