Government Announces Major Reduction in Petrol Prices
Islamabad: The government has announced a significant reduction in petroleum product prices, lowering petrol by PKR 10.28 per liter.
According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division, the price adjustment is based on recommendations from the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA). The new prices will come into effect from January 1, 2026, for the next 15 days.
The notification states that the new petrol price per liter will be PKR 253.17, down from PKR 263.45. Similarly, the price of high-speed diesel has been reduced by PKR 8.57 per liter, bringing the new price to PKR 257.08 per liter, compared to the previous PKR 265.65.
The government said that the price reduction aims to ease the burden of petroleum products on consumers and make daily life more affordable for the general public.
