Senior leader of Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) and Federal Minister Mustafa Kamal has alleged that the murder of senior MQM leader Dr. Imran Farooq was ordered by the founder of MQM, Altaf Hussain.
Addressing a press conference in Karachi, Mustafa Kamal claimed that Altaf Hussain, while under the influence of drugs, ordered the killing of Dr. Imran Farooq. He alleged that the murder was presented as a “birthday gift” to the MQM founder.
Mustafa Kamal further stated that the MQM founder exploited Dr. Imran Farooq’s death for political drama, adding that large sums of money were collected in the name of transferring the body to Pakistan. He alleged that appeals for donations were made even after the killing to gain sympathy and financial benefit.
He also accused the MQM founder of receiving foreign funding for years, claiming that an entire generation was destroyed due to his politics. Mustafa Kamal said that many lives were lost over the past four decades and alleged that the damage continues to this day.
Concluding his statement, Mustafa Kamal appealed to the children of Dr. Imran Farooq not to establish any contact with the MQM founder.
