Serious concerns have been raised over social media activities linked to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the United Kingdom, after a video surfaced allegedly containing violent threats against Pakistan’s military leadership.
According to sources, the video was shared on December 23, 2025, from an official PTI UK account on X (formerly Twitter). The footage reportedly shows several protesters on British soil issuing threats of assassination and bomb attacks against Pakistan’s Field Marshal. A woman in the video is seen using highly provocative and inflammatory language.
Legal experts state that such statements cannot be protected under freedom of expression or political dissent, but instead fall under direct incitement to violence and terrorism, potentially violating international laws as well as British counter-terrorism legislation.
Sources further revealed that the video was widely amplified by PTI-affiliated social media accounts and supporters, worsening the situation. Under the UK’s Terrorism Act 2006, threatening speeches and incitement to violence are considered serious criminal offenses.
Under international law, United Nations Security Council Resolution 1373 obligates all states to prevent terrorism, incitement to violence, and support for terrorist activities. Legal analysts believe the incident directly relates to these international obligations.
Verified sources say Pakistan has formally conveyed its serious concerns to the British government, demanding identification of those involved, a thorough investigation, and legal action in accordance with the law.
According to sources, the incident is also being seen as a test for the United Kingdom regarding its commitment to international law, counter-terrorism responsibilities, and responsible state conduct.
