PM Stresses Equal Rights And Religious Freedom For All On Christmas

On the occasion of Christmas, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif addressed a ceremony at the Prime Minister House, stating that Pakistan is a shared homeland for all its citizens. He emphasized that everyone has equal rights and full religious freedom, and no one will be allowed to act arbitrarily in the name of religion. He further stated that the law will take immediate action against any violations.

The Prime Minister highlighted the teachings of Prophet Jesus (Peace Be Upon Him), who delivered humanity from oppression, spreading love, peace, and respect. He said that the world today needs to follow this message more than ever.

Shehbaz Sharif also praised the historical and ongoing contributions of Pakistan’s Christian community and other minorities in fields including medicine, defense, judiciary, education, and health. Recalling May’s attack by India, he applauded the leadership of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, whose command led Pakistan’s armed forces to a decisive victory.

The Prime Minister underscored that Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah emphasized religious freedom for minorities, a principle enshrined in Pakistan’s constitution. He noted that the Pakistan Muslim League-N and Mian Nawaz Sharif have always respected and honored minority communities.

At the end of the ceremony, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif cut the Christmas cake with Christian community leaders and extended greetings. Federal Minister for Interfaith Harmony Khiel Das Kohistani and National Assembly member Nelson Azim also spoke, highlighting the importance of minority rights and the significance of the celebration.
