Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry visited Allama Iqbal International Airport, where they reviewed the immigration process for passengers traveling abroad.
During the visit, the ministers observed the performance of staff at the immigration counters and interacted directly with passengers to obtain feedback regarding immigration procedures. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi appreciated the efficient performance of an officer of the Federal Investigation Agency and commended him for his professionalism.
On the occasion, a passenger complained that his boarding had been closed due to delay in checking. Taking immediate notice, the Interior Minister issued on-the-spot instructions to the concerned authorities to ensure boarding for the passenger traveling to Kuwait.
Passengers informed the ministers that the immigration process was being completed within a few minutes, which they termed a positive development. Mohsin Naqvi stated that Pakistan’s dignity and the convenience of passengers are top priorities and that no traveler would be stopped from traveling without a valid reason.
He clarified that professional beggars and individuals with incomplete documentation would not be allowed to travel abroad, adding that those who bring disrepute to Pakistan deserve strict legal action. The Interior Minister also directed authorities to further improve the efficiency, transparency, and facilitation of the immigration system. Regional Director FIA Lahore Ali Zia and Deputy Director Airport Owais were also present during the visit.
