Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has said that the day is not far when Pakistan will completely free itself from foreign loans and become economically self-sufficient. He welcomed the IMF’s latest financial disbursement under the ongoing program, calling it a clear acknowledgment of the government’s effective implementation of economic reforms.
The Prime Minister praised the government’s economic team and stated that the support of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, has played a central and crucial role in advancing Pakistan’s reform agenda and paving the way for economic stability.
He added that the IMF’s satisfaction with Pakistan’s reform measures is concrete evidence of the hard work done by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb and his entire team. The recent IMF disbursement reflects that Pakistan is on the right track toward economic stability and sustainable development.
The Prime Minister said that steering Pakistan away from the brink of default and placing the country back on the path of stability was a difficult phase, made possible only because political parties sacrificed politics and the nation bravely endured economic hardships.
He further stated that, with the grace of Allah, Pakistan’s economic reforms and digitalization have now become a successful case study for the world. The dream of Pakistan’s economic development will, InshaAllah, soon become a reality.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that although the economy is now moving from stability toward growth, further hard work is required. As “Khadim-e-Pakistan,” he reaffirmed his commitment to continue striving until the people of Pakistan achieve real prosperity and the country is fully freed from external debt.
