Assistant Commissioner Among Four Shot Dead In Bannu Attack

In Bannu, a deadly firing incident on Miranshah Road claimed the lives of the Assistant Commissioner of North Waziristan, two police personnel, and another individual, raising the death toll to four. According to police, unidentified armed men opened fire on the official vehicle of the Assistant Commissioner near the Flour Mills area, killing all occupants on the spot.

After the attack, the assailants snatched weapons from the injured personnel and managed to escape. They later set the official vehicle on fire before fleeing the scene. Police teams reached the area immediately after being informed, collected evidence, and shifted the bodies to the hospital.

Meanwhile, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi strongly condemned the terrorist attack, expressing grief over the martyrdom of the Assistant Commissioner and three others. He also sought a detailed report of the incident from the Inspector General of Police.

The Chief Minister stated that the attack was highly tragic and reaffirmed that such cowardly acts by anti-state elements cannot weaken the nation’s resolve. He added that the sacrifices of the martyrs would not go in vain and that the fight against terrorism would continue with even greater determination.
