Faisalabad Factory Blast Kills 19

A powerful explosion occurred in a chemical factory in Malikpur, Faisalabad, after a boiler burst, raising the death toll to 19, while seven others were injured. According to Rescue officials, the blast was so intense that it caused the roofs of several nearby houses to collapse.

A house adjacent to the factory also collapsed, resulting in the deaths of a couple and their two children, who were buried under the debris. Among the deceased are six children, two women, two elderly persons, and a factory worker. Residents helped retrieve bodies from the rubble on their own.

Rescue teams continued operations at the site and shifted the injured to the hospital. Officials fear that more individuals may still be trapped under the debris, prompting an accelerated search operation.

The initial investigation report revealed that the rupture of a gas pipeline likely caused the explosion. Commissioner Faisalabad Raja Jahangir Anwar confirmed that most casualties occurred among residents of houses adjacent to the factory. He added that four factories in Malikpur were interconnected and operating together, while the Chief Minister of Punjab is personally monitoring the rescue efforts.

The blast was heard over a long distance, and its intensity destroyed the factory building, causing the roofs of nearby homes to collapse.
