Pakistan, Canada Agree To Enhance Bilateral Trade Cooperation

Islamabad: The Canadian High Commissioner called on Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan, where both sides discussed ways to enhance trade and investment cooperation between Pakistan and Canada.

During the meeting, the two sides emphasized expanding collaboration in mining, agriculture, IT, and renewable energy sectors.

The Canadian High Commissioner informed that Canada will organize three major expos in the coming months — focusing on mining, agriculture, and IT sectors — to promote trade in Asian markets.

Federal Minister Jam Kamal Khan invited Canadian companies to participate in the upcoming Pakistan Food and Agriculture Expo 2025, saying:

“Pakistan is making remarkable progress in halal products and food value addition.”

Both sides also discussed strengthening cooperation in digital transformation, e-commerce, IT exports, renewable energy, and SME development.

The Canadian High Commissioner appreciated Pakistan’s trade policies and industrial growth, noting that:

“Over 300,000 Pakistani diaspora in Canada serve as a vital bridge between the two countries.”

The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to further deepen economic and commercial relations between Pakistan and Canada.
