Hindu Community Celebrates Diwali with Joy and Unity in Pakistan

The Hindu community in Pakistan celebrated the Diwali festival with religious freedom and enthusiasm, which included fireworks and various events. According to reports, this festival was celebrated in different parts of Pakistan, particularly in Karachi, Hyderabad, Umerkot, and other areas of Sindh, where temples were beautifully decorated. Devotees prayed for prosperity, peace, and national unity. Political and social leaders of Pakistan extended their Diwali greetings to the Hindu community on this occasion and emphasized the values of peace, tolerance, and interfaith harmony. In their messages, national and provincial leaders stated that Pakistan is a country where followers of all religions have full freedom to celebrate their religious festivals and perform their worships with dignity and respect. **Prime Minister’s Message:** A special event was also held at the Prime Minister’s House on the occasion of Diwali, where a cake was cut. Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif praised the significant role of minorities in Pakistan, stating that Pakistan is a land of peace, harmony, and tolerance, where there is no place for hatred, strife, disorder, or terrorism. The Prime Minister further stated that the founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, had made it clear in his speech on August 11, 1947, that religious freedom is guaranteed to all minorities in Pakistan, and they can perform their religious duties without fear or apprehension. He also emphasized that minorities have played a proud role in Pakistan’s defense from the very beginning. The Prime Minister also pointed out that the majority of Pakistanis never tolerate any injustice towards minority communities and always condemn such acts. **Government Initiatives:** The Prime Minister mentioned the government’s actions in favor of minorities, stating that the federal cabinet has approved the Interfaith Harmony Policy, and the National Minorities Commission Bill has also been passed by the Senate and National Assembly to legally strengthen the commission. Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif further said that Pakistan is a land where the promotion of peace, light, and harmony prevails, and the entire nation stands with its brave armed forces in the fight against terrorism and the eradication of the darkness of hatred.
