Gold Hits Record High in Pakistan

Gold prices in both Pakistan and the international market have reached historic highs, setting a new record for the precious metal in the country. According to the local bullion market: The price of one tola of gold increased by Rs 14,100, reaching Rs 456,900 — the highest level in Pakistan’s history. The price of 10 grams of gold rose by Rs 12,089, reaching Rs 391,718. The price of 10 grams of 22-karat gold stood at Rs359,087. In the international market, gold prices also surged significantly, climbing by $141 to reach $4,358 per ounce. Economic analysts attribute this sharp rise to global geopolitical tensions, a shift of investors toward safe-haven assets like gold, and currency fluctuations against the U.S. dollar. In Pakistan, the depreciation of the local currency combined with the global rally in gold prices has pushed rates to historic levels, impacting jewelry markets and investment trends nationwide.
