6 Police Officers, Mosque Imam Martyred in DI Khan Attack
Dera Ismail Khan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa — Six police officers and a mosque imam were martyred in an attack on the police training school by terrorists affiliated with the Khawarij group and allegedly supported by India, while five terrorists were killed in the retaliatory operation.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the attack took place on the night between October 10 and 11, when the terrorists tried to breach the outer security of the training school. The assailants rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into the main gate of the school.
Law enforcement officials on site responded immediately, foiling the terrorists’ malicious plans. ISPR stated that three India-backed terrorists were killed on the spot by police, while two more were neutralized inside the building.
During the intense exchange of fire, six brave police officers, including trainees, embraced martyrdom. The attack also left 12 police personnel and one civilian injured.
The terrorists also targeted the school’s mosque, desecrating the place of worship and killing the imam. Clearance operations are ongoing in the area, and all perpetrators involved in this cowardly and brutal attack will be brought to justice.
President Arif Alvi, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi have strongly condemned the attack and paid tribute to the martyrs.
