Balochistan Launches Major Anti-Drug Drive
On the directives of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and the Government of Balochistan, a decisive campaign against narcotics has been launched in the province. The Anti-Narcotics Force, along with local authorities, has begun large-scale operations aimed at eradicating poppy cultivation and dismantling drug dens.
As part of these operations, poppy crops have already been destroyed in several areas, while networks involved in drug production and trafficking have also been targeted.
Authorities have emphasized that to break the nexus between narcotics networks and terrorism permanently, alternative livelihood opportunities will be provided to locals. By offering sustainable sources of income, communities will be less inclined to return to drug cultivation.
Officials further stressed that dismantling the linkage between narcotics, crime, and terrorism is the need of the hour, as this nexus fuels the entire network. The fight against drugs is a national responsibility, requiring active participation from the government, security forces, and every segment of society.
