An unfortunate firing incident occurred at the residence of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) senior leader, Maulana Mufti Kifayatullah, in Batkhela, Malakand district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, leaving two family members dead and several others injured.
According to Levies officials, the incident took place inside Mufti Kifayatullah’s house, where his son opened indiscriminate fire. As a result, his son Ismatullah — who was serving as a Levies personnel — and his daughter Salma Bibi lost their lives.
The tragic incident also left Mufti Kifayatullah, his wife, another son, and a daughter critically injured. They were immediately shifted to the hospital, where, according to medical sources, surgeries are being prepared for the injured due to their critical condition.
Rescue officials confirmed that the attacker managed to flee the scene after the shooting, while search operations are underway to apprehend him.
