According to a Pakistan Air Force (PAF) spokesperson speaking to journalist Muniza Anwar, Air Vice Marshal Aurangzeb Ahmed was commissioned in December 1992 in the GD (P) branch. Over a stellar career spanning more than three decades, he has commanded a fighter squadron, led an operational air base, and held key posts at the Air Headquarters in Islamabad. His previous roles include Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Operational Requirements & Development), Director General Public Relations (DGPR), and Director General Warfare and Strategy.
He holds a Master’s degree in Military Arts from China and in National Security and War Studies from the National Defence University (NDU), Islamabad, where he also served as faculty and directing staff. Internationally, he represented Pakistan in Saudi Arabia as commander of the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex team.
Currently, he serves as Deputy Chief of Air Staff (Operations) at Air Headquarters. In recognition of his service, he has been awarded the Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military).
