SC Cancels Decision To De-seat Adil Bazi
The Supreme Court has declared the decision to disenfranchise PTI leader Adil Bazai null and void. The court has accepted Adil Bazai’s appeal.
According to the details, Adil Bazai’s petition against being disenfranchised from the National Assembly was heard.
A three-member bench headed by Justice Mansoor Ali Shah heard the case. The Supreme Court raised questions about the procedure of the Election Commission.
Justice Ayesha Malik asked what inquiry did the commission conduct to verify the facts in the Adil Bazai case.
Justice Aqeel Abbasi remarked that it cannot be done if a letter from the elder brother comes and then disenfranchises the person.
Justice Mansoor Ali Shah remarked that the measure for disenfranchising the people of a constituency should be strict.
Adil Bazai’s lawyer Sardar Taimur argued that one day the matter reached the Election Commission, and the next day the proceedings were started.

Justice Ayesha Malik remarked that the Election Commission has said that the document is a secret.
The court called the DG Law Election Commission to the rostrum. Justice Ayesha Malik, while speaking, said that you have received two affidavits.
One winner is saying that it is mine, and the other one is saying that it is not mine. Under what authority did you accept one affidavit as valid without an inquiry? Can the Election Commission say that only one affidavit was not liked and another one came?
After the Supreme Court’s decision, the Election Commission suspended the notification to de-notify Member of National Assembly Adil Khan Bazai.
The Election Commission has said that the notification to de-notify Adil Bazai from NA-262 has been suspended until the final decision of the Supreme Court.
Earlier, the Supreme Court of Pakistan had declared the decision to de-seat Member of National Assembly Adil Bazai null and void.
Adil Bazai’s appeal was heard by a three-member bench headed by Justice Mansoor Ali Shah.
The Supreme Court, while accepting Adil Bazai’s appeal, said that a detailed decision would be issued later.
