Tremors from a moderate earthquake were felt late at night in various districts of Balochistan, causing panic among residents. According to the Seismological Center, the earthquake measured 5.0 on the Richter scale, with its epicenter located near the mountainous region of the province.
Reports indicate that the quake struck at around 2:45 a.m., shaking areas including Ziarat, Harnai, Zardalu, Khost, Shahrag, Muslim Bagh, Khanozai, Kan Mehtarzai, Rod Malazai, and Surkhab. Frightened citizens rushed out of their homes, reciting prayers as tremors continued.
Light tremors were also felt in parts of the provincial capital, Quetta. Fortunately, no casualties or property damage have been reported so far.
According to the Meteorological Department, the earthquake had a depth of approximately 10 kilometers, which made it strongly felt in several districts. Rescue teams have been placed on alert to handle any potential emergency.
