13Th Review JCC Meeting Held Before China Visit

On Tuesday, Federal Minister for Planning Development and Special Initiatives, Professor Ahsan Iqbal chaired a meeting to review the 13th Joint Corporation Committee (JCC) and discuss the upcoming visit of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif to China.

The meeting was attended by the Secretary of the Planning Ministry and senior officials from federal and provincial representatives. The review covered projects related to Energy, Infrastructure, Communication, the Board of Investment, Science and Technology, Information Technology, and the Ministry of Water Resources.

During the meeting, the Planning Minister emphasized the importance of the expected visit of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif to China, which is being done at the invitation of China’s top leadership.

The Minister directed all the ministries to complete their preparations immediately and requested them to make a comprehensive agenda for the 13th JCC. Additionally, the Minister asked provincial and federal ministries to provide three important plans for the Prime Minister’s visit to China and requested them to create a regular business plan for the New Gwadar International Airport.

The Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to providing foolproof security to Chinese workers in Pakistan while directing stakeholders to hold regular Joint Working Group on Security meetings.

The Minister also urged relevant stakeholders to develop a solid plan for the operation of the New Gwadar International Airport in the next meeting, emphasizing that the goal is to build the airport and operate it.
