On May 28, the nation is celebrating Youm-e-Takbeer with full patriotic zeal, commemorating the five successful nuclear tests conducted by Pakistan in the Chaghi district of Balochistan in 1998. These tests established Pakistan as the seventh nuclear power in the world and the first in the Muslim world, carried out in direct response to India’s nuclear tests.

President Asif Ali Zardari’s Message

President Zardari stated that Youm-e-Takbeer is a symbol of national sovereignty and defense. The acquisition of nuclear capability was not merely a technical achievement but a well-thought-out decision to ensure peace and stability in the region. He paid tribute to scientists, military and civil leadership, and all those involved in the nuclear program.

The President emphasized that Pakistan desires peace but will never compromise on its sovereignty and territorial integrity. He reaffirmed the nation’s resolve to safeguard national security, defense, and dignity at all costs.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s Message

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that by the grace of Allah, Pakistan has triumphed in the recent battle of truth, and Youm-e-Takbeer is being observed in a new historical context. He lauded former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for making the bold decision to conduct nuclear tests in 1998 despite international pressure, economic sanctions, and threats, making Pakistan’s defense invincible.

He said the echo of “Allahu Akbar” from the mountains of Chaghi still symbolizes national unity and commitment to defense. He also paid tribute to Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan, scientists, engineers, and the Pakistan Armed Forces, recognizing their vital role in protecting the country’s nuclear assets.

Pakistan Armed Forces Message on the 27th Youm-e-Takbeer

Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee and the three Services Chiefs extended heartfelt congratulations to the nation on the 27th Youm-e-Takbeer.

According to ISPR, Pakistan asserted its right to self-defense through the nuclear tests and restored strategic balance in South Asia. This historic achievement symbolizes national unity, determination, and a commitment to peaceful coexistence.

Pakistan’s strategic capability is a sacred trust of the nation and reflects the people’s aspirations. Youm-e-Takbeer is a day to honor visionary leadership and the hard work of scientists and engineers who made Pakistan’s defense impregnable.

They reiterated that Pakistan’s nuclear capability is for defensive purposes only and ensures peace in the region. The Armed Forces vowed to remain vigilant and committed to the country’s security, stability, and prosperity.

Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan’s Message

Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan congratulated the nation and said Youm-e-Takbeer is a celebration of sovereignty, security, and national pride.

He emphasized that the foundation for invincible defense was laid on May 28, 1998, and the services of Nawaz Sharif, Shaheed Bhutto, and Dr. A.Q. Khan will always be remembered.

He said the echo of “Allahu Akbar” from Chaghi’s mountains still teaches us unity, sacrifice, and self-confidence.

He added that Pakistan’s next target is economic sovereignty, and the country must now move forward in trade, technology, and development, making Youm-e-Takbeer not just a memory of the past but a promise for a brighter future.

Federal Minister Owais Leghari’s Message

Federal Minister Sardar Owais Ahmad Khan Leghari recalled that on May 28, 1998, Pakistan sent a clear message to the world from Chaghi’s mountains that its sovereignty was non-negotiable.

He said, “That was the moment when Pakistan created its own nuclear shield and proved that national security is our top priority.”

He appreciated the contributions of scientists and defense experts, asserting that Pakistan’s nuclear program is purely defensive and its effectiveness was proven in the recent battle of truth.

He warned those who mistake Pakistan’s peace efforts for weakness, saying: “We never initiate aggression, but we will respond decisively to any threat.”

He concluded by saying that Youm-e-Takbeer is not just a tribute to the past but a commitment to the future.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi’s Message:

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi called Youm-e-Takbeer a day of national honor, defensive resolve, and unity.

He reminded that on May 28, 1998, in response to India’s five nuclear tests, Pakistan conducted six tests, giving a strong message that Pakistan can and will retaliate decisively against any aggression.

He honored the contributions of Pakistani scientists, the Armed Forces, and the political leadership, saying: “Your work is a golden chapter in our national defense history.”

Referring to recent tensions, he said that the lesson of May 10 will never be forgotten by the enemy, and India knows Pakistan’s defense is impenetrable.
