Women’s March allowed in Lahore
The Lahore High Court has heard a contempt of court petition against the Deputy Commissioner for not granting permission for the women’s march.
According to media reports, Justice Anwar Hussain heard the petitions of Leena Ghani and others.
During the hearing, the court was told that the Deputy Commissioner Lahore had granted permission for the women’s march.
The public prosecutor presented a letter regarding the security of the women’s march. The letter states that the women’s march is being organized in Lahore on February 12,
The participants of the women’s march should be provided foolproof security. Later, the court disposed of the petition after granting permission for the women’s march.
It should be noted that on January 30, Justice Anwar Hussain of the Lahore High Court had issued a notice on a contempt of court petition regarding non-implementation of orders regarding the women’s march and sought a report from Deputy Commissioner Syed Musa Raza.
